Yeah, the WTBS is going to end up shooting itself in its own foot over its anti eduction stance. There is clear evidence both here in Canada and in the US that not having some form of post secondary eduction in the form of a degree decreases your chances of being fully employed. Further, the WTBS is using its anti education stance as a form of control. How true is the statement of british PM Benjamin Disreli "It has been found that the best way to insure implicit obedience is to commence tyranny in the nursery."

What is happening in Mexico?
by ILoveTTATT ini have heard that a lot of the english congregations in mexico are shutting down... they are condensing 5 congregations into one, or in some areas even disbanding the only english congregation.
jw's who have been living in mexico for many years and probably were sheltered by being in the english congregations will now have to move to spanish congregations.... .

When I was "active" there were many who went to Mexico from Canada. One couple went for 6 months and had a housekeeper!! I would find every opportunity to get a dig in by saying: "It must be great to go where there is no need" I went down to Carmen De Playa for an actual vacation and watched from my balcony one morning as two pioneer sisters from our congreation strolled along the beach for 20 minutes with a bible in their hands and then came back, disrobed on the beach and caught the sun and local talent for th rest of the day. I bumped into the later that evening and they just had to tell me about their "big day in service" and all the RV's they had!! English speaking dubs in Mexico are there for purely selfish reasons - the Mexican dubs seem to have a very good handle on the locals and even the few english they engage.

The problems in Syria are not religous in nature. The problem is a despot in absolute power, another in a long line of despots with absolute power, not the first and not the last. This despot was equally supported (depending on their M.O.) by the US and Russia as the ebb abd flow of geopolitics made its mark. Next the dubs will be saying the parbuckling (love that word!) of the Costa Concordia is a fullfillment of Revelation 13.

Feb 10th 2010, 9:05pm - last day in FS (forced slavery) Saturday Feb 13th, 2010 lasted till coffee break at 11am precisely (coffee was always right at 11am after dawdling after the prayer for 1/2hr. Out at 10:15am, first call at 10:30am, last call at 10:55am, coffee at 11:00am. Lame excuse at 11:35am and home by 11:50am, lunch at 12:00pm - free at last, free at last!!

Steve needs to hone his interview skills. Frequently looks disengaged, a bit patronizing and not very skilled. A good interviewer will know what right questions to ask, know when they have been answered and brings out the best in the person being interviewed. Still, enjoyed the interview.

if armageddon is coming "very soon", why go to all that time & effort & expense?

So the GB don't put much trust in the bible or really just pick and choose what suits them. Joshua 6:1-27 outlines the fall of Jericho. God was able to be selective about what came down. Perhaps rather than spending millions without permission on a new Babylon they should head to Target or Wallmart and invest in some red scarfs to hang out of the windows in Brooklyn? Worked once and as God "never changes" I bet it would work again...
